I am in the process of putting a on/off switch in my truck for an LED light bar, and have ran into an issue and am looking for advise on how to handle it.
I plan on putting the switch in the center console in the black piece next to the traction control and 4x4 buttons.
however WHILE doing some research I found out that those are not just buttons, they also have an electrical circuit board behind them. not sure how in-depth the circuitry is in it. any ideas how to do away with it, cut it, modify it, or???
WHAT I WANT TO DO.
HERE IS A PIC I FOUND ON HERE OF THE CIRCUIT BOARD.
I don't think it will work as you'd have to hack the circuit board to fit this switch. What about placing it right below your hazard button (above 4x4 area)?
I may have to do that, I would prefer it in the lower area with the other buttons, but it might just not work, the area below the hazard button is slightly curved, not sure how I will need to trim the back of twitch (clip area) to get it to catch on the curved part, but it could be done. does anyone know if the area below the hazard button is empty behind there?
well alright, looks like their is plenty of room below the hazard button, I went out and jerked the cover off and had a look, that looks like a great place for it, and very simple, thanks.
I was going to say...just had mine off to install new hu and know there's room between 4x4 & 4-way's, but you beat me to the punch. Show off your handi-work when done...sweet look'n switch!
