This one will be useful. I hate not having a passenger side keyhole.

Re: How-To: Keyed Passenger Door Latch Install

The locking assembly is supposed to turn when you strap it on the handle right? I followed the directions on the key assembly and seemed to mess it up I think. My key won't turn the lock for some reason when it's just attached to the handle.

Thanks for this great how-to! Motivated me to join the forum. Couple things
  • The part number for the door handle w/keyhole (15847170) is no longer available at GMPartsDirect. I emailed them, thier new part number is 25875522
    • Has anyone tried items from CarPartsWholesale? Here's the link to the handle I'm looking at, (not OEM but 1/4 the price)
  • Used parts/ power locks: would any parts from a vehicle with power locks work? If so, which ones? ... junk yards didn't have any Colorados when the OP was written, but it might be a good option these days
PS I wish all how-to's had full photos! (One photo got duplicated, new latch assembly from outside, but still very helpful)
