2011 Chevy Colorado: The rubber seal around the automatic shift lever is worn out. Going to replace it. It's the part you see in this picture. How do I install it? Do I just force it on? or do I have to take things apart to make it fit? It seems a tight fit around the knob on the shift lever, don't want to damage it.

Pull the boot loose from the steering column covers and slide it back up the shift lever. With a T30 Torx tool, remove the shift lever retaining bolt. The shift lever should just pull out and you can slide the boot off the end.
