I-5=Have you noticed how flimsy and fragile the wires on all the electrical connections in the engine compartment really are?

As compared to which other vehicles? I regularly work on a GM, a Mazda, a Dodge and a Fiat. They are all pretty much the same. I haven't heard of any complaints of failures related to the size of individual wiring. Are you experiencing a particular problem directly related to flimsy and fragile?

They are the same if not better than what I see. Only really easy to break plastic is heat cycled ignition coil connectors. On a 380,000 km 2005 that's seen -60c. That I drive everyday.

The director for wiring of the 355 had a policy. Points were assigned for errors. If you accumulated 100 points you got your pay messed with, usually that won you a trip to the lower end of the raise range. Using a 1 size too large a gage of wire was a few points. Using a gage too small was 100 points.
