I have a 2007 colorado with a bad 3.7l engine. I also recently bought an i5 out of a 2004. My question is what is different between them I noticed the i7 has an egr and the I5 just has a block off plate.
Will I run into any kind of electrical issues are all the sensors the same.
As far as I could see the wire harness is the same the fuel rail is different one have a return the other having it deleted.
Is it possible and what's the major hurdles

People regularly upgrade an i5 to a '07 3.7 to get the power increase, and is considered a "drop in". ('08+ is more of a challenge) So going the other direction shouldn't have any major hurdles.
