I want your opinions on something...

Hey guys I want your input on what color to paint the front calipers and rear drum brakes. I looked over the threads and seen some from those who have painted theirs but I have not seen enough to see what would look good on my truck.

I have a 08 Colorado 2.9 that is white, factory rims and a white bed cover.

I was thinking of using a silver aluminum color I have already and I don't want to go with white because I think that will look weird.

or should I just leave it all stock? There is very little to no rust on any brake parts cause I live in a dry climate.

I can get a picture later or you can look at the pictures I have on my build thread titled 'My project.'

Hmm.. I'm not sure about that. Do many of the 355 guys paint their brakes?

While we are on the subject of paint: What do you guys say about paint around the engine? I want to spruce up the looks but I don't want to go overboard. Anything you guys would suggest?

And if I do some paint, what colors work well? (i.e. match truck color or make it look good with other things?)
Another one from Abq! We need more from the 505 around.

My front calipers are nothing special, but my rear drums were not painted when they had to be replaced. So they are like a gold/bronze ish color, and it doesn't look that good. I have never seen a 355 with painted calipers, but people have definitely done it.
Not red
I've got yellow calipers on my white car.........I like it. You also don't see that many with this color.

You could do some custom stuff like hydro dip them. These are my drums and my calipers are just painted black

If I decide to actually paint them I want it to match really well and look good. I am painting my exhaust tomorrow to help with rust in the future because I had a friend weld on a new muffler for me.

I don't like yellow much but that does work well with that car.

I was thinking maybe like a dark metallic grey or just black might work.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I am always up for more input!
I painted my calipers and drums black, I like it. It keeps things looking "clean" in my opinion.
When I do mine one my white truck I'm gonna do green. Like a monster green almost
I had yellow for awhile, but just on the front calipers. Now, the calipers and rear drums are black. Have been thinking lately though to do white front and leave the rear black.
I say white, black, or silver. You can't really see them with stock rims anyways, and they will be hard to clean, so maybe a darker color would be best. You plan on putting different rims on in the future?

If you're interested in this Jaymes I know of a few hydrodipping companies in Abq. It won't be as cheap as a rattle can though.
i did it for shits and giggles. I did paint mine read but they seem to atract a lot of dirt
For now I don't plan on getting different rims but that might be something for a future.

moWWck- I took a closer took and those look really good, but going cheap is all I can do right now. Plus I think going black or silver would work the best with my setup since my truck doesn't look very different from stock.
Black. Color matched or bright colored drums is a huge pet peeve of mine. I like flashy colors on calipers if they are actually something worth showing off, but stock Colorado calipers? Nah

Here are the drums on my truck.

That's what I'm starting to think.

That's why I think I'm gonna go with black or silver which will make it look better it isn't going overboard.

That is an excellent paint job on those drums. What did you do for prep and paint?
Handed them to my old man
He does body work for a living. I'll ask him and let you know when he responds.

I totally agree with Alex on this one @ahelm3
Mine are just done in black, with the larger rims you can see them pretty good but like ahelm3 I don't like bright colors on them either.
