The problem with these is that they are crazy expensive to produce and maintain. The rotors cannot be machined if they get a hard spot, groove, anything. And they are $250+ EACH. The material, just the material, for the adapters, was $500. Plus machine time.

I got new calipers, rotors, and pads this week for around $900 shipped. Add the brake lines, bracket, and adapters, and you're very close to the SSBC kit price.

Now, the guy who made these for me, Franco, has been toying with different rotors and some other bits to bring the price down, because honestly, that's where the meat of the expense is. The calipers, pads, brakelines, etc. really aren't THAT bad when compared to buying new stuff. The calipers are like $350 for the pair. Pads are $90. So the biggest expense is the rotors themselves. Like I said, he's toying with different rotors and such, but no matter what, it's expensive.

He was working on a quick upgrade for the 09+ brake equipped trucks, but when he was in the middle of that, he had to move into a new shop and I think it's been set aside for now.

He has one "kit" basically ready to go right now. I think he just has to run the adapters on the cnc mill and they're ready.

Now, as compared to SSBC, these are a smaller rotor, but a stronger caliper wit a larger piston area. All the hardware is also stronger than that in the SSBC kits and there are more options for pad compounds. I haven't driven a truck with the SSBC kit, so I cannot make a direct comparison, but I'd be more than willing to bet that this Wilwood setup could run toe-to-toe with it in all aspects.

My question would be: why hasn't there been a rear disc swap yet? You think your guys could make a better one then the one that is already out? Im not too pleased with the current kit

What's wrong with the current setups Buddy? There are 2 different setups SSBC and TSM kits. After all most of the stopping power is on the fronts.

Matt I got what you are saying about pricing but you get what you pay for. I'm not doing any Xcross like Buddy or you so I went with the 09+ on my truck and like it.

That's another project he's fiddling with in his spare time. He has my old rear end that he's using to build the kit. He just need to find the right rotor to be able to build a proper bracket for everything. Right now he's got a working prototype, but he's not happy with it.

More parts. Moar power.

Snow Performance Stage 2 water/meth injection kit. Gonna start spraying alcohol by the gallon into the intake to cool the boost charge and add some safety. Still undecided on if I'm using my Turbosmart Eboost2 to control it, or Snow's own electronics.

Going to kick it in above 7psi and turn the boost up until was make 450rwhp.

Good call! Are you going to inject straight alcohol or a water mixture? I inject blue washer fluid and have had really good luck with it.

Those Snow Performance nozzles are nice. What size will you be running?

As far as strength is concerned, the rotating assembly should be good for 800-900hp. The block might be a different story. On E85 I'm sure it could take it, but race gas might be a bit too hot for those power levels.

I can get E85 pretty much anywhere here in town, but travelling, it's a real pain, so I've stayed away from it for now. I have everything I need to switch over, but without the ability to go flew-fuel, it's pointless as of right now.

Spraying methanol into the intake will get the job done. NO2 is also a good choice, but there's more issues with that than I care to deal with. I can play with the volume of methanol being injected and basically create a 2 stage fuel system on the fly, but that requires a great deal of faith in the entire setup as you have to adjust the tune for that much fuel. It also requires a metric fuck load of methanol in the truck at all times. Just too many things to go wrong.

I'm planning on switching to flex-fuel. I was against e85 in my area because it's not super prevalent at gas stations, but once I found out I don't need to worry about the mixture or boost levels I decided to start saving up (I'll also need another fuel pump).

Where are you gonna put the meth tank?

New brakes installed and bled. Looking at a rear end swap on Thursday. Still waiting on the Spal fans for the trans coolers. I went and got a ton of AN fittings for the coolers today only to mock everything up and find that I cannot use any of them. They make the overall package too tall to fit behind the bumper, so I'm gonna rethink some things on that project.
