Replacing the coils every time you replace plugs would be like replacing your hood every time you open it.
Foolish. I will soon hit 300,000 miles on my I5, and never replaced coils. Wont do it next plug change, either.

I agree with TheGrandPoohBah, replace coils on condition. I keep a spare on hand, just in case. What coil wires are you referring to? There are no "coil wires" on the 3.7 engine.

I had a 2004 Z71 3.5 and when I sold it, I had 330,000 on the odometer. Original Coils, plugs changed to Iridium at 90K, again at 200K and also at 300K. Ran Supermod's Super sparks from around 150K till I handd off the ignition key.It has been recommended to me to install new coils when I change the spark plugs.
Is that necessary as a general rule?
Are only the coil wires replaceable on a 5 cylinder, 2012?
Recommendations please..
