From my understanding from others here; the dash will display the greater value of the replacement cluster or your BCM. If the BCM number is higher, then your odometer will update then continue as normal. If the cluster number is greater, the odometer will read the same until the BCM mileage catches up.

Someone who has done this swap, please confirm.

Hi all
I swapped a new 06 cluster into my 07 to get rid of the "Serv.TPMS" message ( The 06 doesn't have the TPMS) and the mileage flashed straight up on the new cluster when I had plugged it in. I had researched a little and as far as I could find it is as Dragon 08 states, the BCM will update if the new cluster is lower or the mileage will catch up if the new cluster mileage is greater.
DD731, is your 07 auto or manual?
Mine is here if you want it, let me know and I can get a price for postage. It has around 37 000 miles (60 000 Kilometres) on it.

No certain mileage, Wouldn’t it have my mileage saved on computer?
You want a cluster with LESS miles than the original. Once installed after you start up, and the instant you put it in drive, the new cluster will display, add, the necessary miles to equal the original clusters miles. The computer, BCM, stores the vehicle actual miles and can only add to a replacement cluster display but not subtract them. So if a cluster with greater miles is used it will not display added driven miles until the truck reaches the miles stored in the computer, BCM. Then it will begin to add miles to the display.
Example:
Replacement cluster miles 60,000
Original cluster miles 50,000
Miles to catch up 10,001
In this example your trucks miles will display at 60,000 and not move until you drive 10,001 miles. Then it will show 60,001 miles. Imagine if the replacement cluster was at 160,000 miles, you would have to drive years before it would ever catch up.
Replacement cluster miles 70,000
Original cluster miles 95,000
In this example once you start up and put it drive the replacement will display 95,000 miles, which is what you want.

Can someone confirm if Auto and Manual transmission clusters are compatible?
I swapped out my 2010 cluster (auto transmission) for a pre-TPMS 2005/2006 (can’t remember) manual transmission cluster and had no issues.

There is an “up-shift” indicator light present on the 2005/2006 manual transmission cluster but it never illuminates.
