Hey guys, just joined the site a couple days ago and figured I’d post my current truck and build plans. I’ve had a few GMT800s that I posted below and figured I’d stick my head in the midsize truck world.

Anyways, the current build is a 2005 GMC Canyon CCSB Z85 4x4 with the 3.5L. I got it a couple months ago for what I thought was a fair price and have loved it since. The day I bought it

Immediately tested the 4x4 the day after (engaged and disengaged perfect!)

pulled the flaps and window vents off the same day and cranked till level. Also did the 3rd brake light flip

bought some old school 15x12 wheels and 35x12.50s. Plan on ditching the tires and running 30x11.5 swampers on them

I had maybe 3/4 turn of the wheel before it rubbed. I threw the stockers back on for now until I save enough for the 30s. Also I hit a deer last week so the truck will be going to a shop soon to get that taken care of.

And that’s basically how the truck sits now.

Plans are:
Cleared headlights
New OEM tails or OEM Style LED Tails
Complete LED exterior with Switchbacks
Billet grille
Rough Country 2.5”
Redo shitty muffler system
LED third brake light
Probably something else I’m forgetting

Looking forward to meeting some of you on here and receiving any advice you have to give. If anyone has a question about this truck or one of my GMT800s just ask!

Ordered clear headlights and fogs and a Magnaflow muffler #10416. Hopefully that’ll get rid of the god awful drone the truck has now

Got the headlights and muffler in today. One of the bumper lamps had a broken retainer clip so I’m going to see if I can get the company to ship me a new one.

I couldn’t get the company to send me a new corner, so I ordered a set from another company and got sent the wrong thing. I ordered another set so hopefully this is the last time I’ll have to order any headlights for a while.

Wow. I really haven’t done anything in here.

Wheels are on, as well as 30x11.50 swampers and a BJ spacer from Badland Industries.

Also did some Audio things.

I went from the positive to the back of the Alt, one ground went to the front bolt holding the alt on, the other ground went down to a bolt at the top of the frame.

I'm sure you're aware of the ground pack issues. They are located on both inner fenders.

Wow, been almost a year since I’ve updated this thread.

Anyways, I took the 15x12s off and mounted the swampers onto my stock 15” wheels and rode like that until I wore them out.

Installed the Mr. Tail-light high beam conversion kit

Installed 1.5” spacers

Bought some 20” LTZ wheels and bought a set of 33x12.50r20 Arturo Trail Blade M/T that had 70%-80% tread on each tire

Tinted my front windows 5% and rear 3 windows 20% over 5%

Decided that wasn’t dark enough so I tinted the windshield 20% with a 5% brow

And this is how it currently sits. I converted my DRLs to turn signals with switchback bulbs but I didn’t take a picture of that.
