New Wheels Need To Know What Tire Size

1937 Views 11 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  05babyrado
Alright guys so i picked up a set of American Racing ATX BLADES from my buddy for a good deal. $500 for the set, 17x8.5. He bought them brand new a year ago and never even had them mounted, he cant even remember the offset but its either + 18 or a + 30.

Right now my trucks lift is stock, nor torsion turned or anything. 06 canyon z71. I'm currently running 32x11.50r15 bfg ko's on stock wheels and i have no rubbing or hitting and i'd like to keep it that way.

So to put these wheels on what the biggest tire i can use and will i need spacers for the 18 or 30 offsets?

265/65/R17 would fit anything more is pushing it
You will need to find out the offset of the wheels. The tire size you have now most likely will not fit on a +30. I don't think a 265mm wide will clear either.

Look inside the wheel for the offset. Many wheels have the value stamped in the casting.
@08Canyon i didnt even think to look there. i'm not opposed to using wheel spacers as long as theyre not the thick bolt on type.
The bolt on type are the best. The ring type can be dangerous if over a 1/4" thick. Especially with the short lugs on our truck
If the wheels wind up being +18 then 265 70R17 will probably fit. Maybe have to trim a little plastic
:ghey:
I have an 07 Z71 stock height with 265/75/16's on Hummer rims, forgot the offset,+30 or 38, I have a minimum 1" clearance up front.

inside the wheels it say

ET+18/+30.......

tells me jack.

looking up the wheels online they come up with they offer the 17x8.5 in both +18 and +30..... so i still have no idea what i have
and i always thought the bolt on type were bad for breaking.... maybe that just correlates with people cheaping out on them... which is probably what i would do too
