Here is more info than what you were asking, as it applies to all the Gen III / IV V8 trucks, full size and mid size, but it may come in handy for those with more than one truck:

1999 – 2006
PF46 - short filter (3.404”) for 13/16” threads
PF61 – tall filter (4.526”) for 13/16” threads
PF46 vs. PF61 equivalents in the Mobil 1 lineup are M1-107 and M1-206 respectively

2007 – Current
PF48 – short filter (3.45”) for 22mm threads
PF63 – tall filter (4.828”) for 22mm threads
PF48 vs. PF63 equivalents in the Mobil 1 lineup are M1-113 and M1-212 respectively

I have been using Wick(Napa) for a long time and at 4000miles the oil seems lots cleaner than with anything else I have tried, but they probably all do what they are supposed to,and thats around where I change out the Mobile 1.

I always used AC filters, read an article recently so i thought i would
give the Mobil-1 a try. money really doesn't matter for a filter.

no it doesn't, but the material inside does, plain cardboard vs syn material.

I’m sure the extra filtering media of the taller filter doesn’t hurt, but the main reason I like the taller filter’s is that they are easier to change beings that as the pan tapers away from the filter the further it gets towards the bottom, you can actually get your hands on it.

Just changed my oil so i got some pics.

M1-113 compared to M1-212 (height difference)

M1-113 installed.

M1-212 installed.

Only problem I have found for the M1-212 filter is that noone had it in stock. You have to order it. So think ahead if you want to use it. I also put a qt. Of synthetic lucas in this change. Holy guacamole, the thing runs quiet now. Looking forward to checking the MPG difference. Wont he much if any at all, but wear should be decreased for sure. Got a can of BG 44K fuel treatment on the way.
