Been having this code for the past 4 months and decided to fix it. Ordered a new sensor AcDelco 13502903. Well it wasn't the sensor, looks like bad wires. did a temporary solder fix and order a generic pigtail from ebay for $20 (AcDelco PT2391/19168035). I only lowered the tank enough to pass my hands by the filler neck, seemed like an easier way? i'd also suggest putting duck tape on the filler neck ...

Thanks for the posting. Just curious, any idea what could have caused the damage to the wiring?

I did find a nest of string/rope on top, guessing a small rodent, mouse? Kinda strange considering we don't live in the country/rural area. No coincidence the only bare wires got damaged. They're in a loom now.

You're probably correct. The wires weren't otherwise exposed to possible damage. Thanks.
