So my driver side power window has been acting up lately. When i hit the down button it slowly grinds it way down maybe a few inches then stops if it does go down at all that is. With some help pushing it down i can get it majority of the way down. When i want to roll up the window i have to pull up on the switch then give it a firm bump then it will go up by its self. if it makes any difference it seems to work better in the winter then in the summer. Any suggestions?

Other than cleaning the tracks, there isn't much you can do without removing the door panel. The regulator mechanism could be jamming or some of the attaching hardware could be loose or have fallen out.

Step 1: Up at the top of this page, click on "FORUM".
Step 2: Under the heading "2004-2012 Colorado/Canyon Forum-First Generation Tech Area": click on "How-To Interior"
Step 3: The 11th Thread on the list should read: "How To: Replace Power Window, Regulator Assy., and Motor"

The info for removing the door panel is in that Thread.

Your motor sounds like it might be going out. My passenger side window did this until I replaced the motor. It is smarter to replace the whole regulator assembly though.

Spraying soapy water in to the rubber part of the track will help with lubrication when reinstalling the new regulator assembly.

Thanks for the help but after 3 hours of taking the whole assembly out and cleaning the VERY dirty motor i put everything back together and it still didnt work. I then hooked a battery to the male wire connecter and my window worked perfectly. Long story short, it was the door panel switch the had broke.
