ordered the 8An feed and the 6AN return adapters for the fuel system for the truck, still have to mount the FPR somewhere in the engine bay and make it neat and safe. also got a replacement intake manifold bolt from previous snapped bolt, and had to cut the head off the old one to reuse the old sleeve and rubber cushion as the other bolt I was sent was for a car manifold but the bolt length was the same. also went high tech when torqueing down the manifold. and lastly got all the rocker arms correctly torqued down to 22FtLbs via the start at TDC of 1 and rotate 90 degrees for 2 cylinder pairings, then rotate one full rotation and recheck, and then spin it again a few times for good good luck and triple check. Also learned today while doing the plugs on my Honda that an old baking sheet makes a great parts tray.

today I also received the modified ignition switch from CPW, that allows me to tie in directly to the harness that they have, its a 12v wire that signals the starter to turn over. I received it, clipped the excess wire that they give with the switch, and then did a proper sized butt connector with crimp, and the ends of this one are waterproof heat shrink. I also took the extra two minutes and ziptied accordingly. it was an easy install for the switch

so about $650 later, I have a 50mm turbosmart wastegate, 60" protective coated -4an oil supply line, two -4an 90* to 1/8 elbows, -10an 45* oil drain fitting, and a billet oil feed flange, all from the local speed shop

im going to order the aluminized heat sleeve for a few bucks, protects the oil line around the motor and also looks trick. once I get this wastegate mounted and the headers coated, along with the crossover pipe built, I can prime the motor and fire her up

Solid work man.

Looks like the attention detail and buying the right parts makes for an easy build

played with wastegate location today, its been a PITA trying to get it properly placed and not interfere with anything, still a work in progress

broke out the box of car audio wiring and found some 4Ga that will be the alternator to junction box, this week im going to go by a welding supply to get good 1/0 wire and make great ground cables

this cable was stripped properly, torch soldered into the copper lug, and then punch dimpled to resist pulling out, and heat shrink applied, still have to order TechFlex to colorcode and cover the wiring.

got the coolant tank cleared out and reinstalled, also played around with a 3" intercooler pipe that a buddy gave me and in a weird twist of fate its almost the correct length and angle for a downpipe start lol

here is a picture of the underside, im still having trouble figuring out the best option for using the crossmember to secure the rear of the trans, and making sure its centered. also calculating angle that will allow the 6AN fittings for the trans to clear and it looks like I need to get the driveshaft shortened an inch or two. also cut off an old portion of the exhaust as id like to keep it as a sleeper setup

Defiantly going to want a heat shield of some sort on that coolant tank; pretty close to that downpipe

Andrew, have you or do you have to do anything with the BCM as far as cranking? I've read at different sites that the gen III motor's don't play well at all with our BCM's.

ordered a heat sleeve for $11 from ebay, to protect the turbo oil feed line, was 3ft long and worked perfectly

started to cardboard mock up a heat shield for the computer and the tanks

switched over from the van power steering pump to a conventional PS pump from a 2500HD motor

installed the studs and an old flange from my van manifolds onto the Colorado 5.3 v8 drivers manifold, one of the photos shows the flange hitting the brake line on the drivers side so I will have to figure that out. also theres a photo of a crossover pipe completed, that's from a forum member on fb to which I need to replicate for the crossover for my motor. now comes all the cutting and welding fabrication. im also trying to figure out how to route my intercooler pipes, I may cut out part of the headlight bucket area and sneak in a 3" 90* elbow for the best flow route

picked up the HF hydraulic crimping tool to try to make nice grounding cables, yeah it sucks, and so I built this one manually with a hammer and punch and glue lined heat shrink, ive still gotta pick up solder from the parts store to help build the rest of them

I also got the new PS pump installed but have to work on the hose routing

looks like photobucket has hijacked me from 3rd party hosting, ive got new pics but they want $399 for yearly subscription, F that
Yeah, I'm still baffled by that. They suddenly quit allowing 3rd party hosting with no warning about 2 weeks ago unless you pay $400. They had the single largest userbase of any image site on the web and decided they didn't want that anymore.
