Lay into it hard. Does this mean wide open throttle?
What is the truck doing that is reduced power? When does the power come back on?
No car manufacture makes a vehicle that will reduce power when accelerating, unless there is a traction control system on that particular vehicle.
Acceleration governor, what is this? Does your vehicle have traction control?
I have never had any reduced power on my coly, even when doing donuts or 100 foot burnouts..

If i stomp on it to hard it goes into reduced power mode. It can occur from a dead stop or i can already be moving and just step on it real hard and will do it. It seems like ot shuts down a cylinder and runs all funny you can have the pedal to the floor and it barely goes after that. I have to shut vehicle off take key outta the ignition open the door close it wait till the inside light goes off then i can start truck back up and it will be cleared
Yeah there is some thing wrong...... we dont have an "acceleration governor"

Bad coils?
Hahahha i wish i knew cause it comes up on my dash as power reduced. Ive had the conputer read but not while that was up a s the only things were mafs because i have an aftermatket intake, termastat , and o2 snsor
Are you not getting any codes? This happens to me every once and a while. The codes I get tell me that the throttle position sensors are getting different readings, and some other garbage.

I haven't checked the throttle body or the sensors yet, but you can start there.
If it's going into reduced power you have something mechanically wrong or sensor misreadings. It's not a governor but a safety net to prevent the engine from being damaged when it's not running correctly according to the PCM.
trucks actually have a speed governor, and when the truck hits the 100mph it will "take control" of the gas pedal and will decrease the speed to 86 mph or so. during this deceleration no matter how hard you step on the gas the truck will not accelerate.

As long as I know this is a safety feature to prevent people going stupidly fast in a 4WD lifted truck and get killed. Many cars from almost all brands on sale down here has this feature only difference is the "allowed" top speed.

Don´t know if this is what you´re talking about bro...?
The traction control was optional on the late model Xtremes.

I've only seen the reduced power warning in the cluster display if the wheels were excessively spinning on ice or snow.

You need to have all the codes checked in the PCM/VCM BCM ABS etc to find the actual problem.
the only way i was able to resolve this on my 05 was to either have the PCM reflashed at a dealership, or buy a new PCM.
---well with no codes being displayed, there is a problem. I’d guess one of the computers. Is there anyone around you who can scan your truck? Something is not right and killing power at WOT could cause a potential crash, for example, changing lanes, passing someone, getting onto a freeway etc.

Wait...you have a MAF code?
That would be the problem.
