SON OF A BITCH!!! I finally got my Add-a-leaf from UPS. that actually showed up on time. I'm pissed though cuz the dumbasses at Rancho Tech support told me the RS5301 were correct for the front. I found out ( after driving home) that the damn things have ears on top and our trucks take studs!!! I have to take em back tomorrow order the right ones (which I have no idea which they are) and then wait till they come in. I might have to wait till Saturday afterall. :dawg:

That just plain sucks. At least you found out now and have time to get it corrected before the weekend.

I don't blame you, I've gotten the wrong parts before and it frustrates the hell out of you.

tell me about it. oh well. I'm feeling better now. Just gotta make a few phone calls tomorrow.

Anyone know the correct part number for a Rancho Shock with a stud mount for a 2in lift on a Z71? Guys at Summit said it may be a RS5610.

For the front or back? they both have the ear mount tabs. The 5301's are like 2" shorter though.

OK so I just called Rancho direct (again) finally got someone who helped.

Stock: RS5300 (front) and RS5301 (rear)
4" lift: RS 5610 (front) and RS5325 (rear)

Shock # | Compressed | Extended
RS5300_______10"_________14"
RS5301______14.75"_______23"
RS5610______12.5"_______19.75"
RS5325______no info_____no info
RS5190______15.825"_____26.25"

Does anyone have the specs on our stock Z71 shocks? or a place I could find out?

where'd that come from? Thats damn close if not exactly what the Rancho guy told me. Thats another reason I'm afraid to use the 5300. It's recommended for stock.

Edit: Well I just ordered the RS5300's I found a write up for the torsion bar crank on CF.com and the guy said he used RS5300's I guess if they blow they blow and I go with the ones recommended for the 4" lift.

They won't "blow". A torsion bar crank doesn't increase your suspension travel, only its resting position.

Ahh. Thank you. you are the first person to tell me what cranking the torsion bars really does besides "It raises the front up." Damn sales ppl :disgust:

Looking at your sig them 33's look sweet. I have a feeling the BFG 31's aren;t gunna cut it but I just got them back in Jan so they'll stay for a while at least.

I took your info, merged my knowledge into it, and made it pretty. :D
