For the 2.9 at least in these videos, which sounded less ricey, the mbrp or the thrush?
I am at work and only have built-in monitor speakers so hard to tell but honestly, go with whichever you like better. Maybe some people with each will chime in with more info.

Awesome thread. Very helpful.
Thanks!

Here's my 2006 Z71 3.5 crew cab with K&N CAI and Jakey Header and Borla Pro XS and an oval tip!

Sounds really Nice and lopes on idle and doesn't sound rice like others!

Stainless Steel Flow throw design with Sound! $100 for muffler, $10 cheaper online than local $30 to weld up and $45 for oval tip and install!

Some reason having a hard time with pics and video through AutoGuide.com? ?
Anybody have any ideas how to over come this?

I'm still having trouble uploading video, goto youtube. Search for 06 Z71 crew cab 3.5 with Borla Pro XS & tip

5.3 mbrp duals
Cell vid

In cab with gopro 5.3 mbrp and Doug headers , vid was made more for tire noise but there are a few good spots you can hear the exhaust and headers

Here's my exhaust setup...

Installed a pair of Borla ProXS Turbo Mufflers. I kept the cats and used 2.5" pipes. Tony tube CAI.

The stock exhaust it huge and heavy. The Borlas look tiny in comparison.

I was originally thinking of having polished tips exiting shotgun style under the license plate. But after thinking about it, I thought I'd like it best if you didn't see the exhaust at all. With the trunk on the ground you don't see the pipes at all. You hear 'em though.

The Borla's sound great nice deep low rumble at idle and a great roar when you get on it. Very quiet at highway speeds with absolutely no drone. It's worth mentioning that I have a bedrug and an carpeted tonneau cover which helps keep the cab noise low. I'm very happy with this setup.
