Hey guys, I am in the midst of a 5.3Ls swap on a 2004 Colorado. I know the easiest way to do a harness is to call current performance and get all the necessary components to make the swap easy. But:
Has anyone tried to use a stock LS harness as a standalone unit, paired with a painless wiring harness to wire the rest of the truck. I think the biggest hurdles will be the oem gauge cluster. The rest of the truck I don't think will be a problem. I feel like there is a lot of un-necessary items I do not need to re-wire as a lot of the stock luxuries of the truck will not be re-used.

thanks
Cory

Interesting, has anyone else done this with such luck?
Have to put it out there, that you will have ABS fault and Battery fault because several differences and missing communication lines and protocols. This gets the gauges and odometer working.
