Hello all. I've searched but couldnt find the answer to my question, or at least I didn't see it. Anyway, what is the size of the exhaust for the 5.3 trucks? Looking at it I think its 2.5 inch to the muffler and the muffler back. Looking at changing out the muffler at some time.

Sorry if this has been asked a bunch, thanks for any help.

My little 3.7 is 2.5 inch I would imagine at least a 3 inch on the v8 trucks??

That's where I'm getting confused. I've seen 3 inch and 2.5 is what others have said. I know almost every 1500 I've seen has 3 inch or at least it appears that way.

2011, 5.3: muffler 2.75 inlet, 2.50 outlet

RockAuto indicates 3.0 in and 3.0 out. I just go by the measurements of mine.
