When closing the roll up sunshade today, it binded up, and the entire shade came off of its retainer. There are strings hanging down and it cocked sideways. I was able to maneuver it out of the way so it will not hang down in the cab.
I could cut some window tint and tint the sunroof, but I would like to repair / replace the shade to keep it original.
I do not want to remove more than needs to be, so if anyone had experience with this issue, I would be greatful to know how it was resolved.
Thank You !

Decided to just do away with the shade. It is just under 300.00 to replace it, and the labor involved removing everything that needs to just isn't worth the time and $$, not to mention what else may give way during the repair. I applied a dark tint layover to the glass and it works just fine in keeping the direct sunlight out.

It's cool that you figured out a solution that worked for you. Sun tint layovers are a great way to keep the direct sunlight out without having to replace the sunroof. Plus, you can get extra protection from the UV rays. And you saved some cash, which is always a plus. :) It's been a few years since you posted this thread, so I just wanted to check in and see if you found a permanent solution. If you haven't, then hopefully other people who are googling this same problem will benefit from this thread. Either way, I'm glad you got it sorted and got to keep the original sunroof!
