275 is a good width for a 9" rim, not sure you could find a size that would fit though.

you'll want atleast a 255.

i found 275. would that be better? for some reason 275 is cheaper than 255. i wonder if 275 would have good sidewall ridgitity????

What size is the 275? You need to worry about overall diameter as well. You're running 255/50/17's or something like that right now right?

A 255 will look a little stretched, but should be fine.

I just punched the #'s into a tire size calculator.

235/55/17 = 27.18"
255/35/20 = 27.03"

Those would be the same diameter as what you've got now.

but im lookin to get 275/55/20. whats that equal? think that will work without rubbin? i dont want a tire so thin. it rides too harsh with my chopped 4203 springs.

thank you all so much.

woops!

275/55/20 will be hugenormous. That's a 32" tire, it would barely fit a Z71.

rrcn, what was the size Italian7 was running on a 2/3? 255/40/20 or 255/45/20? Whichever one it was it would probably be a good size for you kerad.

He's running a 255/45.

Are you dropped, Kerad?
I think he's a ZQ8 with 4203's and 2" blocks.

edit: He said in his last post he's got cut 4203's.

Probably at a 2/2 drop then.

I don't know if the 255/45/20's would work then....

Looks to be there may be too much sidewall.
He should stick out more than you unless he has more back space then he would have to worry about hitting the inside upper fender well.

ended up getting 275/45/20. should be big and comfy. nice wide foot. ill trim the fenderwells if i need to. just couldnt stand such a small tire on such a big wheel. transmition is already clunky and rough enough. ill post pics when shit is straight. also have a trainhorn comming in real soon. lots of chrome goin under the body. OH YEA! gotta love the common sence in that!

thank you all for your info.

Honestly I don't think you're going to be pleased when you try to bolt those up. That's a massive tire for a lowered truck, it's almost 30" in diameter and a good 2.5" bigger than your current tire. That's the same tire Silent Images is running, on a stock height Z85.

I'm dropped 3/4 and rub my 255/35/20's. I've rubbed them so much, I've rubbed half the life of the front tires away....

And these are 27" tall tires.

And being dropped 2/2 is the same drop I have in the front, but an inch higher in the rear. I'm with Brakenit, I don't see 30" tall tires bolting up.

Seriously, please prove us wrong though!! I'd hate to see you have major rubbing issues.
