While I was waiting for my parts to come in for a frame fix
(read more here... 2012 Canyon Colorado Z71 Driver's side Rear Lower... )

I took the opportunity to add a transmission drain plug and temp sensor port to the transmission pan. I was originally going to use a B&M kit (B&M Drain Plug Kits 80250). I didn't like the idea of the inside nut of the kit limiting the removal of the last bit of fluid. So I made a dimple die to create a low spot for complete fluid removal.

In the meantime I found these tank flanges on MSC Industrial Supply:
1/4" NPT here ... https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/78649811?rItem=78649811
1/8" NPT here ... https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/78649803?rItem=78649803
I used the 1/4 npt for the drain plug.
I used the 1/8 npt for the tranny temp sensor.
Both of these were tig welded to the pan inside and out.
I finished it off using a hex drain plug with a magnet insert.

Ordered a Trans Temp. gauge from Summit. Intellitronix LED Digital Gauges M9107W
The gauge is on backorder. Once it comes in I will post an update.

Here is a link to photos of the modified transmission pan...
