So this only happens when I first start my truck. I pull out of a parking lot at low speed and my truck shifts from first to second and I get a noise that I can only compare to a Blow off valve. No, my truck is not turbocharged but right at shift, I get a air whoosh (for lack of a better word). I know if can't be normal but I want to make sure it's not pointing at a potential problem. I don't know how to trouble shoot it unless I'm running along side the truck while it's driving itself. (I joke, just wanted someone to laugh at that mental picture.) Anyone else heard this sound?

Truck is stock, to my knowledge.

noise in transmission just prior to shifting - Chevrolet Forum - Chevy Enthusiasts Forums. I guess yours is an automatic that was in good working.g order and correct fluid level. Use this as a starting point I'm not saying this is your suspected problem though.

Ya. I guess I should mention that. It's an automatic and besides the noise, everything seems to be good. Fluid level looks good but I'm not sure when the last time the tranny was serviced as I have only put on 3K miles since I bought the truck

Ya may never know when serviced last. Atleast the fluid appears at the proper level.My owners manual suggest to change fluid and filter at 35k intervals.
