Who has the Belltech frame notch kit?

6847 Views 24 Replies 12 Participants Last post by  BigR
Looking around for a frame notch..
I need a pre-fab kit, as I'll have to pay a shop to do the install and they don't normally do fab work.

Suggestions for something other than Belltech?
Anything stronger, tougher, meaner?

Everyone...

All of these suggestions look good to me.
Thank you for taking time to help educate me.
Ya'll are the best.
After all these years with no notch, spanking my shaft on every dip in the road, I'm gonna DO IT!! :th_woot:
I have the kit from AirBagIt, but haven't got it installed yet :gd:
What is everyones' preferred method of corrosion protection after the install?
Don't wanta get frame rot.
I like using VHT Roll Bar & Chassis paint. It's self priming, durable, corrosion resistant and the satin black finish is very close to OEM. POR-15 is also a good choice, but it's kinda pricey.

One year with a lowpro cross member in the garage so don't feel bad. Haha
That's the way it is for most of us I suppose..
If I have the cash to throw at my only toy (my truck) it's because I've been working a bunch of hours.
But when I'm working so much I don't get time to spend on the truck.

Got a friend who retired this year at 55.
Man, the cars and trucks I could play with if I had that kinda time.

How deep is the airbagit notch? 2.5"?
^^ I was just going to post that LOL
I have that notch it is really beefy. I see some guys feel it is a bit pricey but I like it better than the others. Since you are cutting the frame and the potential for it to drop out of alignment (frame alignment not front end alignment) structurally I feel it is a good choice. It can be bolted in but I bolted and welded it in. I used the same paint as Rich did the VHT.

ok I am not this bad, I have my 3 inch drop leafs in my garage since March but I have to notch before i can put them on.
