So like the title says.. the wire going to my #2 coil has a short. So at first I thought that the coil was bad so I replaced it, but afterwards I realized that the misfire was still present. I've found that if the truck is misfiring that I can go wiggle that wire until it runs smoothly and that will work for a day or so then I have to do it again. The short seems to be right where the wire enters the plug. So I guess my question is can I cut out the bad section of the wire and re connect that plug or will I have to buy a whole new plug.

You might have to buy a whole new plug, I would start checking junk yards first. Some of the guys here go quite often and might be able to look for you. Also there are a few guys parting trucks out on here, you could try one of them.
