I just joined the forum. I have a 12 Canyon std cab with the I5 engine. It's two years old and it hasn't needed any type of repair work until now. Recently I noticed when the HVAC air flow button that allows to recirculate the interior air vs draw in fresh outside air wasn't changing sound like it normally did.
So I took it to the dealer's service shop to have them check it. It turns out that the point where the actuator connects to the door broke. They said it is a plastic tab that the linkage connects to that snapped off due to what they said was a binding condition.
It was repaired under warranty by replacing the door and actuator. As you know this is a very involved job that requires the dash to be removed and reinstalled. The AC system had to be evacuated so that they could disconnect the AC lines to the evaporator in the dash.
Anyway I was wondering if this is a common problem. I tried to search for this but didn't find anything. I'm hoping it's rare because I would hate to do this job myself.
