Soo we are preparing to paint the door handles and I had to pull the one on the truck and replace it with one that didnt have a key hole in order to paint it. I had just finished washing the truck and started pulling the handle and noticed frikin water was easing in through the door handle.

SO I have two questions:
1) Has anyone had the same problem and used silicone or made a gasket behind the handles to eliminate the water that can get in?
2) Can door handles with power locks be used in manual lock trucks?

Many thanks for your time and consideration.

are you refering to the gasket that handle should already have, between the handle and the doors paint... or something else.

Why bother blocking any water from entering at the handle when a ton enters at the window sill?

Something else...Evidently the OEM gasket isnt acting much like a gasket. LOL I was thinking about making a little gasket to go behind the OEM gasket to stop water from coming in. I didnt see any other leaks when I pulled everything apart.

I think the door handle gasket is just there to prevent plastic-to-paint/metal contact which would cause rattles.

I was just about to write that DB. And I also agree with your other post. Ive been on scorching hot days and put my window down, then rolled it back up and its wet. Meanwhile hasent rained in couple days.

The window leaks hardcore.:ugh:

I didn't see different part numbers for trucks with power locks or not for the handles. So, they should work on all 355s.

The power lock is just an actuator that pulls on a rod that hooks to the lock. Whether its power or manual, it still hooks to a rod which is hooked to the lock.

So it doesnt matter if its power or manual.

You are the man, thanks brother. Looks like we have two rods. One for the lock cylinder and the other for the handle, so I was wondering if the manual had a place to attach the second rod. But have what we need now...Appreciate your time
