I guess I'm having an issue translating. Full sentences and punctuation in the correct places with paragraphs and some background would help.

I've never seen an ethanol free gas below 91 octane.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say there? Are you saying ethanol free is crappy, or that 87 octane ethanol gas is crappy? Or that 91 octane ethanol gas is good?

i clarified it a lil
ethanol..... i always hear it doesn't burn as well,,,, clogged injectors and more deposits left inside. if its less efficient, costs more in the long run in maintainence, i don't see the point in using it.

non ethanol..... after gutted cats an a high octane tune i foul plugs every 10k just using regular unleaded rated 87 octane. on 92-93 everything stays much cleaner and burns better and the plugs last longer, O2 sensors stay clean longer

as much as i have had to clean the tb, im on my 3rd set of plugs with 86k on it, have cleaned a ton of build up off the 02 sensors, i think these trucks need to be ran on high octane to keep everything clean and running good. i have been running 92-93 octane through it for a while now and its doing much better.

The non-ethanol I'm buying is 90 octane...lol. It says on the pump though that it may have UP TO .5% ethanol added. Compared to 10% or higher i say it's pretty much ethanol free.

One thing I've heard/read though, is that running premium or higher octane fuel in a motor that doesn't require it is useless. How true is this?

What can you really tune on a stock motor to require higher octane fuel though? You can't really change your compression ratio, lol. A turbo or supercharged motor requires premium. I'm not too familiar honestly with the differences in the octane levels and what they mean. Any explanations?

Its good to know I'm not the only one thats noticed a difference in MPGs. LOL. A friend of mine also told me that all premiums gasoline doesn't have ethanol.... that's not right is it?? The ethanol free gas around my area is about 10 cents higher than premium so i dont see that its not worth it. 10 gallons of regular at 3.26 a gallon here is 32.60. 10 gallons of the ethanol free gas at 3.52 a gallon is 35.20. it's worth the few extra bucks IMO to get better fuel economy....correct me if I'm wrong. lol.
Around here, each grade of gas is $0.10 more expensive than another. So if you pay $0.10 over premium, can't you save $0.30 per gallon if you run the 87 octane (or your low octane) which 'should' run just fine in your unmodifed truck? I know know, maybe I just have fuzzy math. LOL

I don't get it.... You're saying its not worth it? Lol. Too early in the morning for me!

I carried over 13000 tons (102 cars) of ethanol alcohol the other day and it was headed for California.

It smells like fermenting apricots to me.

If you pay more to save a little, is it worth it. That's what I"m saying. If you pay slightly more ($0.30 for ethanol) and you can honestly without a doubt say your truck runs better than I guess it is worth it. In all honestly, how much 'worse' does it run while cruising around town with an unloaded bed? Low octane should make your truck run fine, it was designed for low octane fuel. For me personally, it does not run any differently with 87 or 91 octane. And did not run better with whatever octane the ethanol-free was. It was like 98 or 100 octane.

The ethanol free I'm running is 90 Octane. It's about ten cents higher than premium ethanol E10. I get better mileage with the non ethanol. It worth a few extra dollars to go a few extra miles in between fill ups...

There isn't a non ethanol gas around here that's lower than 90 octane. That's what I'm basically saying. I don't care about the octane rating. I know its designed to run on 87. But I get a lot more mileage on the non ethanol that just happens to be 90 octane. Lol. Hopefully I'm not confusing anyone.
