I pinpointed a rattle that I was really annoyed with to a loose hood latch. When the hood is completely closed I could slip my finger tips through just enought to lift up on it and I could feel the sloppy play and hear the up/down rattle.
For a quick fix I used a small peice of rubber hose and put a slit through it to rap the bar that inserts into the latch. its now a tight fit and no longer rattles due to the loose fitting.
I'm wondering if theres a better more permanent fix cuz the rubber will eventually wear through after opening and closeing the hood several times.
