I took one apart for Darek.

what I did was drill small holes in the back of the chrome part. poured Goo Gone in the hole and used a little force to peel the red letters away from the chrome. once the letters are free you can paint the letters whatever color and glue them back onto the chrome and there you go.

Chrome outline, painted letters.

Just get some painters tape and paper. tape paper around the logo for overspray. Get a can of krylon plastic spray paint. It already has primer in it. Ive used plastic paint on my cars before. It wont chip off.

Paul has a damn good way to remove the letters there.

I know that Darek and I pried on the red letters with a screw driver and that worked, but it was pretty tough so you didn't break them. I think one of them did end up breaking on Darek at one point in time though.

so i'm going with a yellow outline (chrome now will be yellow) so do i need to sand it? with what grit paper? then hit it with a plastic primer i assume?

i'm color matching the outline yellow just to make that clear

i just used black caliper paint and sprayed it on. survives the pressure washer

every few months you have to touch it up though, like any paint at the front of your truck, rocks decimate it
