I will be getting new shoes on the rado as well as a drop next week , not sure what size wheels to get yet 20'' or 22'' ... and as far as the drop not sure what will look good with the size of rim ... I was thinking 22s but I am worried about rubbing if i go with a 3/4 . Just looking for some opinions on what you guys think looks good . 08 blk single cab z85 .:salute:

A z85 with 3/4 and youll be fine with 40series.

Im zq8 with 2.5/3 on 40series and it works cause ive done the work to make it work.

Wouldnt suggest it tho.

Offset of the wheel youre buying is the most important part.

Mine are 22x9 + 35 and it barely fits.

i hate to jack this thread but beings this is being covered im going to jump in. a zq8 is 1" lower than a z85 correct? i ask as im planning a drop on my zq8 and am unsure if a 2/3 will cause problems with stock rims and tires. i see a few others with this drop but have seen nothing with clearance problems on stock 18"rims and tires

You have to treat every spring drop like it was on a z85 and subtract an inch from the final drop numbers.

Shits very confusing when working with springs ftmp.

The a arms will give you 3in no matter what you start with.

Ex: i have springs cut for 3in drop but because im zq8, i only got 2in.

Then you add the .5 from the stock zq8 spindle and you get 2.5.

The zq8 gets its suspension drop over the z85 with .5 from the spindle and .5 from the spring.

In reality, with wheels and tires, a zq8 is 2in lower than a z85.

Then you realise that every 355 truck will take mods differently, even though we have the same parts...

Its one of those situations where you do all the homeworkk you can and then realise that there will always be some fine tuneing with clearance and the chevy lean.

No truck takes the same mod like anotherone did.

Yes. Increased capasity always helps with towing, which you get from the z85 leafs.

Helper bags help alot too. Ive never been a fan of the air shocks, but a bunch of members swear to em.

Just dont go more than 4in with a block.

Its possible but youll be asking for trouble.

Youll also be commng close to the frame at that height so....you might need to trim a bumpstop for more travel or possible notch it.

Notches rle cause you can use a lowered truck bed like a normal truck bed.

Like we said before, your best bet is to get out there with a tape measure to see where mods will put your truck.

Ive always had trouble spelling troubble....trubble?
