Like it love it and only use it now! Have been since 31,000(at 71,400 now)! Also have it in the rear diff too!

But I go 5000-7000 miles on my oil changes. So if the average person does theirs every 3000 miles..its not costing me anything extra. Somthing to think about!

Oh yeah...5W30 and I believe for the 2.8 and 2.9 its 5 QTs for you. The 3.5 and 3.7s take 6 QTs

Royal Purple is way too expensive. Plus, I've read some really mixed reviews on it.

I remember them claiming it would make your truck gain horsepower, and they had to stop that add because it was false advertising.

I've heard more good things about AMSOIL but it's still way too expensive.

If you want to go synthetic do what I do and go to Costco...6L of Castrol Syntec is like $30. And yeah, you should run synthetic in your diff, transfer case etc. Just my $0.02

jeremyreed, since your in Fairhope, try calling over to Bryant Motorsports at Five Flags in P-cola. He used to sell me cases for around $80 when i was living down there. I'm not real sure if he still carries it, as most of his people are buying Joe Gibbs oil now.

I run Royal Purple I really like it. But who really knows if its better than Mobil 1 Syn or any other Highend syth...

Change it yourself youll save alot and like BadI5 said you can go alot farther between oil changes with synth

I ran the overratted Mobie1 before I started with RP, I noticed it ran alot smoother with RP then Mobie1. :true:

Yeh, the JG oil is what we run in our racecars. They did just come of with a 10w30 synthetic Hot Rod oil which I will be trying out in the '32 Ford I'm building. Kinda expensive for the average guy being 120$ plus shipping for a case, but my engine builder is a dealer so I get a hookup

I use 5qrts 10w 30 castrol 1qrt Lucas oil , also use the Lucas fuel additive and rear diff fluid. I use Lucas in my 4wheeler oil and rearend ....its great stuff and usually extend out oil changes to 5k -7k rather every 3k

Definately RP. After Building my 79 Trans Am, I tried several different brands including Castrol and Mobile1. But When I put RP in that big 6.6Ltr, It was amazing. When I bought my Rado, I immediately swapped for RP oil and RP filter.

I bought 2 cases when I was in Florida, seems to run smoother than Mobil1 synthetic I have always used. Is there a difference..... would love to see a dyno test and some hard facts on it, not tv commercial hype.
