i just got some rancho rs5000 shocks for my z71 and have some questions about the boots. Do you need them? I've heard a lot of people say they hurt more than they help. Also if you do, how do you install them? mine seem air tight so when the shock compresses and expands it becomes like a vacuum making the boot collapse.

mine have always been attached on top...but the shock goes out too far for the boot to stay attached so for over a year i have only had the top half of the boot attached. no one sees the bottom half anyways..its behind the wheel set up. and you just have to stretch it on man.
Id like to get some shocks pretty soon, with the body lift goin on..will be able to see the ugly stock ones...
im running rs5000's too. i think they look much better with the boots. long as you zip tie them well they will stay. i would leave them loose on the shock then adjust the boot where u want it after mounting them
