Im not 100% on these, but by length alone I think theyd work. For those not wanting the butt ugly (im sorry but true) blue/yellow bilstein HDs, these are the zinc/black 5100 series shocks.

quick question
if i have a z85 2wd. and want to put on an aal or a shackle i can use stock z71 shock on rear and be fine?

also if i have z85 2wd. and want to put aal and shackle i can use stock z71 with smaxx 1 or 1.5 inch shock spacer?

is there any difference in the specs of a z85 shock and a z71 shock other then the height?

New info from Bilstein...

I’m looking all over for B46-1819-H0, but only seem to find B46-1819-H2 are they the exact same shock just a newer version?

Thanks
John

Hi,

The -Hx refers to a small change in the hardware included with the shock. It's a very minor change, such as changing the color of the boot. It has nothing to do with the shock internals or design of the shock.

Bilstein has actually changed to an entirely new part numbering system that does not use the -Hx suffix. That B46-1819 number still works in a lot of places but the new Bilstein part number is 24-018197.

After further research I have nailed down the Edelbrock part #'s for stock rigs...

Front: 33053
Rear : 34053
Lifted 2-2.5: 3411
Lifted 2.5-3: 3412

If anyone can help me verify this it would be appreciated.

i have the 4" lift hydro (7000) shocks. im specifically looking for the rear. the bushing has shrunk exposing the metal sleeve which is rubbing the metal making a gosh awful noise.

Ok, it's time for new, longer shocks on my truck. I'm reading all of this and my head is going :run: like a lunatic. I trying to figure out what kind of shocks I want. I do plan on beating on them a little bit, like at the sand dunes and some odd and end trail. Would that mean I would more want a stiffer shock (would that me a monotube?) or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated because I would like to order them soon so I can have them on by November 18ish.

i just put a pair of rs5375 on the front of my truck (rancho selector chose it for me) and am having no problems so far. i'll let you know if i do.

05 z71 2wd tb crank.

I saw the same shocks on the rancho site. I have a 3" crank and aftermarket keys, I am considering using these shocks in the front. Are you running stock keys or aftermarket? I'm assuming you're not using any shock extensions?

According to page 1 of this thread you can use the rs5375 on the rears as well if you have an aal or a shackle. I have a 1.5" shackle so I guess I could run the rs5375 all around?

The rancho site says to use the rs5190 in the rear, but I'm not sure they are taking into account the aftermarket shackle.

Anyone running the edelbrocks? I've thought about them and the bilsteins. Larry at suspension maxxx suggested a set of kyb shocks for my truck. They have extended length ones that will work with their keys and shackles. Any opinions on the kyb? I plan 90% on highways.... 10% back roads.

I was thinking of the KYB Gas Adjust. I had the monomax on another truck, but it was bigger and heavier. I've heard from a friend the Edlebrock shocks on another truck did well, with the dual valving for road sensing. I haven't seen the cost on the Edelbrocks though.... I just rolled over 50k not too long ago. With the heavier and larger tires on the front I expect I'll need to replace them before too long. Nice to hear somebody else has suggested the KYB. It's always nice to get a recommendation about what works on what vehicle since they all react differently.

I've heard a few members here say the Bilstein shock is pretty stiff. That along sounds like more than I need on mine. Plus they have a name that an expensive price tag is usually attached to.

I am using the RS5301 shocks, with 4" total of rear lift and a 1" shock extender (left over from a previous lift, not really needed).

The 5301 can also be used with a 2" lift as well (shackle or AAL), Garette on C355 has that setup.
