I've been meaning to replace my factory unit. The CD player no longer functions, it won't load a CD. Had the same thing happen in my 04 Grand Am when I had it. Radio still works. Factory speakers sound like crap anyway so if I replace the head unit, I'll probably replace all 4 speakers as well. Not looking to spend a ton of money, just would like a better sounding system that actually works.

Just as an aside, I had same problem with the time reset on my car (not truck). Turns out electronics were cutting power to "non essential" things to save power for starting. Replaced battery and all was well. These trucks do weird things when battery starts to run down.
I didn't notice anything strange right before I had to buy a new battery for my truck. My battery wasn't even that old, didn't even last 2 years. I bought my truck used from a local used car lot. I know it sat for several months before I bought it, probably had to have the battery recharged multiple times which probably killed it. When I bought a new battery from the local Autozone, they actually gave me a prorated discount as it was an Autozone battery in it, most likely bought at that location. I told them I didn't buy it there but since the battery died so quickly, they basically gave me a discount on a new one. And wow the battery for these trucks is expensive. $130 with a $35 discount, would have been $165 at full retail price.
