From the other thread...

as odd as it sounds, i feel the name is going to require some thought...

i dont think majority of people would take a "SRSM" seriously, or even consider it.

if the 'public' knows right off the bat that this is a collaborative effort between a few chapters it should draw some more interest, right?

Well yinz know I'm all about this.

Considerations - there is a USASM this year, which means in the past there was not an NESM.

I think SRCSM is what it shall be called......unless we come up with something clever.

Maybe in the early fall.......won't be balls ass hot. Sorry I have spent to much time in the middle east and other parts of the world where its ballsass hot. Plus this may open it up to some that might go to USASM.

Either way no matter how we spin it........this has the making to blow NESM5 out of the water. Now Dave and I have popped our planning cherry we can assist as needed or desired.

Look how successful the cabin meet was. I would even be down to do something like that again, smaller scale means more personal.

Sorry for the random thoughts, but that's how I get my thinking process going. Thankfully, the review thread on NESM5 has already proven to be a useful tool.

Plus, Jim I know you want that black and yellow SM medal :kiki:

Personally a smaller personal one like the cabin meet, but invite some other cool cats. We knew the circle that works well together and who else would fit in with us..........but I think if you shoot for an SRCsm.......it will be pretty much the same.......just no one will feel like they are left out lol

South side is closer for me too :kiki:

Is it really a "supermeet" if it's invite only? I think we could offer it up, but if people want to come, they figure out their own sleeping situation. Be it hotel or camping.

I can't do Spring or Summer do to the wedding. Fall/Late Fall may be an option.

Not going to complain if it's closer to us Cap Chap guys.

Ever notice how we always have to come up there?

Ohhh, well that wouldn't be the same.

We need to get Ed and Pauly Walnuts up for this too

For the sake of this year with it being a first..........inventational, fall gives us all time to plan and save and has to be on the SRC turf.

Again, that's my opinion as an official T-shirt holder and indoctrinated member lol

Well get your Cap Chap asses in gear planning something and we'll come down. :kiki2:

That being said I think it sounds like Fall is looking like the best option for everyone.

I could care less what other people think about the name. We never complained when it was North East or Mid South or Mid East. Think about it SRC IS an official chapter. Why not Steel Rivers Super Meet?

That being said I like the idea of a smaller personal meet but if we are gunna make it an invitational I don't think we should call it SRSM. It'll generate hurtness among the rest of the villagers. It would be a slap in the face saying "We are having a Supermeet but unless you're one of the cool kids you're NOT invited."

I agree with getting Ed and Pauly Walnuts here for it. As well as Hillbilly and Jiffy. I'm glad to see Mr. Mark is gunna make the drive. Be sure to drag D, Paul and the ninji with you as well as any and all the other cool MidSouth Cats! Would be sweet to see Tribo again.

We could always do both but that may get cost prohibitive. Especially with USASM as well. Pending an attendance list I MAY attempt to go this year.

Steel Rivers Super Meet (First EVAR!)
SRC/Cap Chap Cabin Meet II
-New and improved. NOT a State Park with fire restrictions. :lolhit:

What'd I say?

some good points brought up

i also think im leaning towards an open invite. the only people that would probably come would be the people that we'd invite anyway. on the other hand, without ME or NE, it could draw a decent turnout.

i like fall too

#24 ·
Agreed Jim.

Sounds like the general opinion is an open invite standard Super Meet style meet in Fall.

We can.celebrate Mason's birthday at the super meet so you can free that date up :lmaop:

I have nothing planned that far out.....so I'm open to all dates

Ok so we are in agreement we are gunn attempt to plan a 1st annual Steel Rivers Super Meet? If so we can start out with the poll for dates and start scouting out locations. I've got no problem taking the ball and running as long as I got my SRC homies to back me up. :high5:
