Another nother thought; the BellTech rear sway bar WILL work on a ZQ8 if you take the time to cut the factory swaybar mounts off the axle. I have personally done this.

 

i'll get you the z71 specs soon, didnt know anybody was interested or i'd have that info already.

 

Is there really a noticeable difference with either aftermarket sway bar? Is an 1/8" enough to make a difference?

 

its not just the thickness but the materials ability to bounce back(tensile strength???)

So does anybody run the hellwig bars? I'm just wondering if its worth the extra cost for the chromoly bars, vs belltech's steel.

Yes, I have Hellwigs both front and rear. They made a big difference in keeping the front and rear flat in turns though I do not push things to the limit. I chose them for their advertised hot forged, Chrome Molly, adjustable links on the rear and their old time name in the suspension field.

 

I really need both. They'd help keep my tire rub down when I'm making a sharp turn ... at low speeds... yes?

 

To a point yes, less sway in the front will help!

 

Yeah, with my front being so low, the front flex could use some stiffness.

 

Yeah between the bar being thicker and better bushing, you will feel a differance!

The rubber sway bar bushings were shit after 30k miles!

hey for my z85 what mods am i gonna have to make to install the aftermarket rear sway bar? i havent checked but dont recall noticing one back there, so are there the proper mounting points or??

 

If the belltech set will fit on a ZQ8 then i will invest for a set for sure...all i would have to do is cut the factory brackets off the rear axle rite...

 

Yeah the front is a direct fit and the rear you need to cut the factory mounts.

 

anyone know about putting one on the rear of a z85? they dont come stock so whats it going to take to install one?

 

If you buy the belltech it gives you everything you need to install it.

belltechs site says it will fit a z85....so i'm assuming i'm set there. but the front says "only for vehicles with coil spring suspension" are the front sway bars diff on a torsion bar truck? they dont look it...

 

i couldnt use the rear bt bar on my truck anymore....

 

I believe the sway bar on torsion trucks are different....last i looked atleast

hmm. im still running with no sway bar. i need to find my links bodyroll sucks but the pros outweigh the cons.
