My sub box has been sounding a little "rattly" haha..... I guess.

So, Could I fill that bitch with cotton balls to make it a little more dense? SO it doesn't sound as hollow? Would this make it sound better? Because I have seen tech articles of guys doing this with fiberglass boxes. Would it still be as loud?

also, I'm running a L5 in a custom MDF box. see cardomain for pics.

Well I guess it would depend on what kind of box you have weather it be ported or non and some other stuff. I figured this would be a simple question and answer, well now its beyond my point of knowledge and I'll let the sound guru's take over.

Sorry couldn't help you further then that. All I know is I did it with my enclosed box and it made it sound better. Not sure if it works that way with enclosed boxes or not.

Filling a sub box with cotton, tricks the sub into thinking there's more airspace than there actually is, hence making it louder.

I was starving my 12" out of airspace when I 1st installed it, my box is too small. Filled it with cotton, and it's was now hitting notes and tones that it wasn't hitting before!
