I really doubt they make vehicle specific kits.

you buy the hinges, reinforce the door, reinforce the body, and either relocate the handle to the front of the rear door or shave the handle completely.

this member did a great job on suicide rear doors. itll take some time to get to the page you want.

 

Yea dont do it, Downtime eventually took his off I believe. Took it to a very well known shop and they didnt do very good work.

 

I'm sure you would get less quality work being out in the Cayman Islands and all. :shrug:

its plenty easily done, but lots of work. personally if i did it id use late model chevy truck super wide opening hinges. itd be a factory hinge, plenty strong, and if you could find a wrecked truck you could cut out the C pillars and the back section of the doors and make it all work.

then itd be factory like.. id probably charge about 1500 per door just as an FYI

 

Wasnt it downtime that had troubles with his opening while he was driving, or not closing all the way or something along those lines?

 

I had trouble with the shop that did them doing shitty work. They didn't open while driving but they didn't shut all the way and never lined up either.

They didn't open as far as stock and were just done extremely poorly. I've seen them done well, and they are cool, but I spent more doing and then undoing them than I ever should have!

 

I would say as long as you took the time to do them right, it wouldn't be different than any other vehicle, all doors work the same :lol:

 

Could you use the hinges from an extended cab door and modify them to make them open farther?

Im sure they wouldnt hold the weight of a whole door. They are pretty craptacular.

 

Probably right just throwing out ideas. Maybe you could make something based off that design in solidworks or another engineering software.
