Okay so I am giving my flowmaster to my brother and I want an inexpensive "best" replacement between these two.

Summit Racing SUM-630125 - Summit Racing® Turbo Mufflers - Overview - SummitRacing.com Super Turbo

Thrush 24214 - Walker Glasspack Mufflers - Overview - SummitRacing.com Glasspack

I will have the exhaust run over the rear axle and straight out cutting it off probably 1 foot before the bumper. The reason I hated the Flow was cause of the drone and though it was partly due to my ignorance for dumping it, I know they're prone to drone anyway, so I decided to get a muffler that actually does flow. Between the 2 I would assume the glasspack would be the best in performance as it is straight through but will it be obnoxious loud like the flow or better? Also will I loose any low-end with a straight through design? BTW the thrush is $22 at my local Advanced.

Please address
Sound Quality
Loudness (as long as its not in the cab I'm okay)
Performance

Thanks

I have a glaspak, i like the sound. But i too cut it b4 the rear axle, it haz drone but its deep sounding. Thinking bout having come the side in the near future

Cool thanks blue sorry for the PM's too I didn't even know you had posted here.

Another thought though, what would the sound, performance be like using both with the glasspack going pre-muffler? Any thoughts?? or jus waste of $$$

Well went today and got the Dynomax Super Turbo...probably slightly "rumblier" than stock but not neccesarily louder. Good note and seems to perform well. By the numbers it flows better than a Flowmaster and way better than OEM without having to take a daily tylenol. I think I'll be happy with it.

Is it any louder than stock when getting on the throttle hard? Also, if it's not too much trouble, could you record some audio of it? I think that's the muffler I'm going to go with, but I'm not 100% sure yet, as I haven't found any audio of the thing.

I've run Dynomax super turbos on all my trucks (05 canyon I4, 05 silverado v8, soon on my canyon v8) and i love them. They are a little bit louder than stock, but i love the rumble and throatier sounds these mufflers make. I don't remember them make a huge difference in performance, but it always made me get on the gas more to hear that nice exhaust tone. I've never noticed droning but i've never run them dumped either.

I pulled the trigger on a Thrush Turbo Muffler, the largest that they make. I'll start a new thread and report my opinions on it once I get some time to install it. Should be a touch louder than the Super Turbo, without being obnoxious. The downside is I could only get it with an offset/offset configuration, so I may not be able to keep the axle-back pipe, but that's alright. Probably just to a dump, or side exit if it drones.

If u can stand the drone. Turn it down, i couldnt stand mine anymore and had too add a 5ft xhaust tube and exit it the side

heres mine when it was turned down b4 the rear axle... since then i added 5 more feet of tubing and is currently exiting out the side behind rear tire. video taken off my old htc evo from sprint

video press it

Blue, that is about the sound I have with an MBRP muffler in place of my stock one. The rest of the eshaust is stock accept for the header. Mine may not be quite as loud as yours, but the sound is the same.

I had the super turbos on my 4runner. Well, I swapped a vette motor into it, and it sounded nice. I don't know how it would sound on our trucks. She wasn't crazy loud, but my truck sounded like it'd rape spectators when I gave it some gas. Nothing was stock, so that could be a contributing factor to sound too I guess.

I'd buy um, you can't beat the price. I will probably be buying one for my colly as well. My stock exhaust sits on the ground when I'm laid out..hahaha

Forgot to ask, our exhaust is 2.5"?
