Just wondering here, but my truck doesnt have the t/c button but when i removed my dash bezel theres a plug that goes to that spot with all the wiring. So my question is if i buy the module thats part of the bezel will i then have t/c, or is there more to it?

No button == no traction control.

But why take the time to run the wires up to that spot and have it plugged in? I was just curious, mines fully loaded as well and i didnt have this option either. My buddy has it in his 2wd z71 and its not that bad..does helps when its slick outside and what not.

Considering that the TC button disables the TC by sending a signal to the PCM - I'm going to say that all you get by ditching the TC button is TC all the time with no option of removing it.

Im going to try and get with my buddy this weekend to try his out and see whats up. At 1st i thought 5spd trucks didnt come with it hence why i dont have it but yesterday i saw another 5spd xtreme but with t/c. Rangerbob i thought the button just gives you the chance to turn it on? If Andersonn removes his button when its in the off position he should be fine, heck i dont have a button and she will spin em w/o cutting the power.

The TC default to ON guys - not off. This is why you have to push the button to turn it off every time you turn on the truck.

And I doubt GM would make it so that a simple switch swap would enable a couple hundred dollar option.

They only offered TC with the 5 speed trucks for the first year or two, the way it kills power causes problems with the manual transmission. As violent of a stop as it is in an automatic truck I can't imagine how bad it'd be in a manual.

My traction control doesn't work anymore, it lets me know when I lose traction but it's basically 'disabled' because of my tune.

Why bother - because then you don't have to train people to do multiple tasks and it takes less time to do the same thing over and over than to remember which piece goes where when.

No button, no traction control!

There is nothing to turn off!

Yeah it can get hairy in the rain and snow with no TC or TM, but its fun!

ah~~so TC default to ON? good to know..I always thought it was the opposite. Sometimes when I drive up a hill and i can feel my truck is 'lack of power' like choked up or something...it doesnt go faster even if I floor it. Is it because the TC is on?
