Guys, after over 2 yrs of owning my truck, Im finally ready for bass!! Ive been talking to UndeadRado quite a bit and Im stoked! Hes hooking me up with my Subs and Wiring and helping me as i go.
So, Im gonna list what I have and or am getting. Also going to build a box for under my rear seat. I just want to hear your input and do's and dont's from the stereo guys.
So as of right now I already have the Pioneer 3100DVD installed.
Along with Kicker Coaxial speakers in all the doors. Nothing fancy but sound great ever since I sealed up the doors. 10x better than my oem speakers. Got these from a fellow cfans member back in the day for literally nothing.
Im getting 2 10" Cadence subs from undead. They look so awesome!
Also buying the Kenwood Kac-7205 amp to power the subs.
So the subs I believe have a 4.5" mounting depth. Not 100% sure yet because they're not in my possession yet.
I found a simple box design that xkmacx86 drew up that I found on cfans. Im going to replicate it but use a ring to space the sub up the .5-.75 that i need. Then run some grilles on the subs. Ill space the seat up 1" or however much that I need to. I have 3 kids so I have to keep the rear seat.
Heres the box plans from xkmax86.
***UPDATE***
Well guys, i built the box today and well, im not going to use these subs. They would work if i spaced them out of the box but id really have to raise my seat alot more than id like. So, im gonna go with some shallow mounts. Btw, I didnt follow that drawing i posted above to a T. I modified it and made the box taller.
I shouldnt have any issues with the seat. Now i just need some shallow 10's. Im looking and there is tons of companys now making them. I dont wanna spend alot and im not trying to win competitions.
*UPDATE*
Got my subs today! Only took one day!
Threw them in the box for a test fit. Worked great. Sorry for the crappy pics. Just an update on what i did.
Plan on rolling on herculiner tomorrow if the weather is ok.
*UPDATE*
Got the first coat of Liner on the box.
*FINAL UPDATE*
Well guys its done and all i can say is WOW. Sooo, happy with the way it turned out. Sounds soo BAD ASS and i cant believe it! Best sounding audio setup ive ever had in any vehicle.
WOOP WOOP!
Yes the truck is filthy...i know. Havnt bolted the seat to the front studs yet. I have an idea but i may just leave it alone. Its not like it can move. Let me know what ya think!
**FINAL FINAL UPDATE**
blueradoxtreme (Heath!) made me a threaded sleve so i could bolt my seat down at the front. Now its completely bolted down on all 4 corners.
