i use my 05 crewcab z71 as a work truck although ive done a few minor apperance things such as shave all decals and colorado emblems off, ive also taken my running boards off (to make her look higher, which it does btw) and i had my front windows tinted to match the back ones.. anyway my buddy was busting my balls cuz i mentioned that i wanna lift it and he goes "why, u use the truck for work and thats fine but the colorado and h3 are womens trucks" (his family owns a used carlot so he always has differant vehicles, he currenlty has an h2) anyway i brushed off his normal ball busting and went on a date with a girl on friday (the rear ujoint blew on my vette< so i had to use the truck) so i picked her up and somehow i made a wrong turn and we ended up on a back street that dead ended into a trail and i jokingly say "lol guess were goin off road" and she goes "nooo we cant, not with this truck its too small itll break, its a baby truck, u need a big boy truck for that" (and she wasnt being mean the way she said it) but it made me think if i lift this truck am i gonna be catching greif all the time from ppl with full size trucks??? even tho im sure thew colorado is prolly better then most of them in wooded areas

My buddies call my truck (and so do I) a baby truck. IMO, it should only bug you if you really want a fullsize.

These trucks are plenty capable, despite not being fullsize. This site should be more than enough proof to you that these are not "women trucks" since the majority of members here are male.

I have always had a fullsize truck. This is my first non-fullsize. It is a little smaller but I seem to like it, there are many things that make these smaller trucks great. Besides most people with fullsize trucks really don't need them they just have them to make them feel like like a better man when really htey just have to work that much harder to pay for the bigger truck. I was once one of them, but now that I have a family and have paid off all me debts but my house I buy what fits my needs and the crew cab Colorado does that just perfect.
And for the better in the woods part, when you sqeeze between two trees that the Jeeps are going through and "buddy" in the fullsize has to back up and take a bypass, who has the advantage then?

lift your truck. i too caught some greif when my truck was stock now with a lift and some bigger meats it gets respect. these trucks are pretty capable offroad too.

ps i can walk on full size trucks with 33's all day, everyday... off road that is

Ask you buddy if h wants to race......a lil red truck from Texas will whop his ass.

Ask him if he wants to keep up in the mud or trails......a lil bob tail truck in Oregon will embarress his ass.

Ask that Chick to get to steppin'

i fuckin love driving my colorado. parking between big ass trucks in my zq8 makes me so proud to be the low midsize guy. i dont have to "compensate" like a lot of fullsize guys. just look at my avatar <<

I know it aint none of my business but I noticed u said u had a family now and then u have gfs? Kinda confused on that but yeah my gf gives me grief all the time bc she says its a small truck but I tell her I pay her no mind bc she don't know what she talking bout

I know mine is a mid-size, but I enjoy parking next to full-size pickups now.

Lift the shit all day long if that is what you want and like. Only grief I get from the full-sizers is the fact that I am a 2wd. Then I show them a few pictures from some places I have been and they usually eat their words.

the guy is jealous! I say ditch the bitch to fully love a man you must love his truck!

and FYI I hate vets-- i think they are for dudes with too much money and no taste or tiny penis they feel the need to compinsate for but its just my opinion :) too each their own

Drove big trucks all my life. When gas prices went throught the roof I was like this is nuts. Why? I drive 50 miles a day in a crew cab silverado. Bought codys Colorado and fell in love with it . Sold the gas guzzling monster for my cc colorado and sure as helll don't miss the fuel bill or parking the monster. The girl is obviously not the one to question these trucks ability.

You have to be comfortable with who you are and what you drive. Let gas go up again and watch the overinflated egos try to sell the big trucks for next to nothing. I assure ya gas is not going to go down anytime soon. I wouldn't worry about it at all. Jmo

my little bitty lifted single cab is more capable than my friends 07 lifted z71, ALOT more capable. to prove a point i followed him and his buddys through a muddy 4 wheeler trail and went through the same shit they did, and im only 2WD.

long story short, his bitch wasnt riding bitch with him on the way home.

yeah my girlfriend says the same thing. that the tacomas, frontiers and colorados are girls truck and men drive f150's silverados and rams. i told her the same thing... "real men" think they need to drive f150's and that they can wear pink (tough guys wear pink). she said she wants a fullsize. i told her "you can have whatever you want, i'm still driving my colorado"...lol

i'm like 5'7" the funny thing would be looking at me hop into and out of a fully lifted f150. lol. the colorado suits me. and yeah, the whole gas thing, trail thing, and weight thing.

I never really had people give me shit about not havin a full sized truck. When i get to talkin about trucks I'm proud that my truck can go further than a heavy full sized truck in some mud and gets better gas millage at the same time.

I work at a truck shop and catch grief all the time about having a "baby truck" or they say its just "a nig car", but man i got a shit ton of pride in my truck casue its bad ass. And the fact that everyones gf comes and talks to me about the truck or checks me out when im driving around is my victory dance!! These things are oober awesome, if you lift em or drop em they got crazy potential!! My gf hates my truck and says i like it more than her, all i say when she says that is "well i dont hear my truck bitchin right now"

how did i miss this thread??

look man i catch shit all the time for my truck b/c its lowered and nothing goes in the bed. guys at work are always like "why did you buy a truck just to drop it? defeats the purpose of having a truck"

but everywhere i go i get compliments and people do double takes, triple takes if they catch the license plate.

widow said it best.......you have to respect the truck to respect the man.

my truck has been through one wife and several g/f's. its not going anywhere no matter what anyone has to say about it.

exactly

I had a family friend ask me 100 questions about the canyon 'cause he just bought an '08 sierra and was very unhappy w/ the gas mileage his exact words were, "Damn this truck is twice as nice as mine and I'll bet it cost half the price"( Every one has opinions just remember most people are idiots! Most idiots have more $$ then sense)
