is there anyway i could use that antenna for the regular radio? i would have to borrow my buddies small screw driver set to take my flip out dvd deck. which i was gonna do tomorrow. was wondering if anyone knew if that would work?

well the way the antenna plugs into the HU is a huge like cord and input plug...idk if maybe you can splice it into that? :shrug: im not a electrical guy
I would think not but i am sure there is a way to mod it from the unit down is there a way to take it apart so we can see the guts? post some pics and ill let you know best i can
found the wiring diagram for my head unit. it has a blue wire which says auto antenna control ( connect to antenna control lead & power supply of antenna amplifier). could that be the wire to hook up to the satellite radio antenna? i dont have xm anymore but i still have the antenna.
Sirius/XM satellite signals are broadcast on 2.3Ghz, a MUCH higher frequency than FM broadcasts which are 88 to 107.9Mhz. The FM antenna wire is set to be about 300 ohms and plugs into a specialized socket in the back of the headunit. The Sirius/XM antenna is powered by the headunit and requires a specialized input.
But, if you can get it to work, then write up a How-To.
