I haven't been able to find any information at all on the forums or the internet regarding dimensional differences between the Z85 and Z71 rear spring shackles.
I'm awaiting new tires to arrive and I'll probably have to raise the front end a little bit for proper clearance (appearance). Since it will take such a small amount (I think) I'm wondering if I can get away with a slight lift in the rear.
My question is, is there a difference between the Z71 and Z85 rear leaf shackle? I know the Z71 is taller but not sure if it's from other methods than just the shackle.
My shackle measures 3.5" between the bolt centers and is about 6" in total length. The leaf is 2.5" wide. If somebody could measure their shackle that would be great. Instead of spending high dollars on an aftermarket shackle, perhaps I can just get a stock one here in town for a reasonable cost.
Without having the front set to a final height I can't say how much I need to raise the rear but I'm hoping I can get away with about an inch. My truck is nearly level right now, so an inch on both ends may just be enough to suit me, at least for now.
