I have a 3rd floor Apt so a standard vacuum won't cut it, I would have to run 150' of extension cord down to the parking lot for power. Stupid Car Wash in the neighborhood remodeled and now the vac is $3 or $3.50 something stupid like that. In the long run it'll be cheaper to buy something.

So I'm looking into some cordless or 12v options, wanted to know what you guys thought.

DeWalt DC500 Heavy Duty Cordless 12V - 18V 2 Gallon
cordless or 120v

I like the Dewalts cause they run off the 18V batteries I already have, but give opinions if you've used any of these or something else that's good.

Hell maybe even a strong Dirt Devil

this is the current Stanley 12V piece of shit I wasted $19 on.

so worthless, huge waste of money.
such a bad product, I want to be more descriptive, but I can't say it "sucks"

you could just spend 30 bucks on an inverter and use the trucks battery to vacuum
thats a really good idea.

and it being an inverter means its not just usefull for vaccuming the truck...

Check the electrical draw of the vac first. Most of the cheap inverters won't handle that much draw. Good idea, just get the right sized inverter.

There are a ton of sizes for invertors. I have a permanant one in my truck. It's a 3500W. Large enough to power a MIG welder. Little overkill, but I use it a lot to run the Porter Cable at car shows.

This is a really nice vacuum:

x500 on the inverter.. also shop vac makes a vaccum that snaps on a 5 gallon bucket and lowes sells it for about 20 bucks. the 5 gallon buckets are about 2.50 there.. 100% worth it, I've got one and love it.

I have the first DeWalt you posted.

I mainly use it plugged in from the garage, but it does the job with the 18v battery pack.
