I am proud of me, my dad bought a Passat wagon, the one I was talking about a week or two ago, and the bitch quit working, it's a 1.8 t 5 speed tempt ronin tranny (fancy for semi standar)
It had some electrical damage, several wires on the DCM harness were bad, anyways a oil ninja spying on the vw forum and bingo, got the bitch running again
Some mechanic was talking $500 bucks :gd:

Not mine but the ricer in me is inspired

depending on how detailed you want it you could pick up some thin steel or allum and bend one out yourself, be loads cheaper, that was what i was planning if i used the jeep bumper, it was just going to show way too much frame with my BL, the skyjacker skids are only like 2 bends and a few holes for $100, could make one for $20 or so

if you did some offroad regularly, do 3/16 or 1/4''. could probably get away with 1/8'' with some rolled lines in it like the superskidz
if you made a cardboard template, you could probably have a shop cut and bend it, maybe even put some rolled lines in it for rigidity.

When i built my dash for my S10 i made a template out of cardboard. I took it to this shop and they cut it out, did all the brakes and rolled beads into it. Came out kick ass and only cost me $90. Just buy some metal, make a template out of cardboard, then transfer it down (flat) onto the metal. Mark where you want the brakes and at what degrees. Thats what i would do.

Wow that is awesome Ed way to go :chaching: :chaching:

Its a great feeling when you can learn something and then put it to use.
Yeah billy, we were ready to set the damn thing on fire, I've been driving it today, that thing is cool
how much yall think it would cost to get a skid plate made
i need a metal one for the jeep bumper
hmm you mean to put inside the bumbper?

1/4 would be sturdy enough and heavy as fuck too

sup guys... i have a question... my mom just bought a used 2007 A4. so we took it to the dealer to get it checked up... well the dealer is saying the car needs basically all suspension replaced....

so i was like.. wtf.. the car rides perfectly fine... and they were like.. well its a 2007 so its got some miles on it.. and i was like bullshit... it only has 50K miles.... and has never been crashed..

anyway.. my question is... can anybody get that job done in case it actually needs it?? or is there some stuff that only the dealer can do??

basically they said i need all this minus the sway bar links...

EuropaParts.com: Control Arm Kit (A4/S4/RS4 B7, 12-Piece, Meyle)

i have a friend that worked at this suspension place so i want to ask him if we can do it in my garage for a lot less.. the dealer wants 1500 dlls for parts plus 300 on labor. instead i want to buy the 599 dlls kit plus food and beers.

I wouldnt fix shit Abe. If its driving fine and tires are wearing fine i wouldnt worry about nothing.

I HIGHLY doubt a 07 50K mile Audi needs all the front end suspension replaced. Theyre just trying to make a buck.

Jack the front up and grab the wheel and rock it left and right, up and down to see if there is any play. If there is not and the tires are wearing fine and you have no noises, your fine!!
