Well I've had my truck for coming up on 2 weeks now. My rear bumper is already getting all dinged up from rocks. (The edge that wraps back around toward the front of the truck on the end) Most new vehicles I have seen have some kind of protectant on the bottom of the body to protect the paint. I wonder why GM didn't do that for us? lol Or maybe it's just my WT version. Anyways, what are some of you doing to avoid getting your truck all dinged up from your tires slinging rocks everywhere? I don't really want any nerdy looking mudflaps or anything haha.

Well I have had mine new since 04 and I have had the front bumper repainted 3 times now. I need to have the bumper and hood both resprayed now. This time I will get a clear bra done.

thanks everyone, and blackmamba, the flying rocks are from my tires..i go about 5 mph on my driveway to be careful not to sling them up, but they get stuck in my tires and when i get onto the main road, they sling all over the place lol

i will look into the scotchgard, someone told me i could get it rhinolined and color matched, but i dont know about how much that would cost lol

just do a little FOD check...Foreign Object Debris...we have to do it everytime I drive on to the flightline at work, but than again, i hate doing it...I would most definitely not get it rhinolined...that shit looks dumb...sorry I'm no help with much, I just sit at work on a comp until I am dispatched

well i would do a foreign object debris check, but i dont have time to stop and pick rocks out of my tires haha. i actually told my gf i might start doing that, but im not quite that OCD about it. it's just a little irritating for a new truck. does anyone know how much the scotchgard protectant would cost?

The 3M paint protection film is not an easy DIY project.

Punch in your ZIP to find a local installer: Where to Buy

I have had my front covered since day two of owning the truck.

Here is what 140k miles looks like on my front bumper, hood, fenders and grille

The headlights and DRLs also have smoked clear bra on them.

The new films are undetectable. They are much smoother and shinier than the film produced 5 years ago when I had mine done. I've been contemplating having my buddy replace the film but we want to see how long it will go till it shows signs that it's failing.

It's not cheap to have done but well worth it. My S10's front-end would have been repainted 3 times already in 5 years. That would cost much more than the clear bra.
