I would think that there would have to be pretty good bang for your buck here. the turbo market would be pretty small imo

Yes please. Just modify it so you can remove the fuel rail without removing it, and improve flow as best you can.

Just the aluminum is good enough for me though since it's stronger and can be powdercoated or polished to improve the look of the engine bay 100 times over. That's my main complaint with our engines is that big plastic piece of crap.

people have a hard enough time paying 500+ dollars for a header, you think they'll pay 1000+ for an intake?

 

I doubt it will cost that much, I would guess about half that.

Most people will not switch just for the sake of switching, but I can see an aluminum manifold being popular for

1) boosted folk that are concerned about the plastic manifold
2) people that want a showy engine bay and want something they can polish, paint, or powdercoat

I'm trying to convince him to do a front-facing version for the I6 to simply my boost piping.

I had an idea to layout the intake/tb/air filter to be on top of the motor for the ram air hood scoops. The Atlas motors love cold air. Just a thought!

i'd be happy with a simple box intake w/ equal length runners.

 

I'd like to see it done! However, It would have to make big gains before I'd drop more than a few benjamins on it. And yes,
anything would look better than the black milk jug under there.

 

I wish I was back home to help out with this. I'm actually curious if there are any differences between the late model intake manifolds (2.8/3.5) and new model ones (2.9/3.7). GM has them listed under different part numbers.

 

This is the only thing I was wondering... if two versions would need to be produced for each motor but it seems like the 3.5/3.7 manifolds are interchangeable which is good because it means less cost for the manufacturer and so less cost for us!

On this note though: I would be interested in one that simply flows better than stock but would prefer the stock intake/TB location because I don't plan on doing a whole lot with the truck and having to fab an intake for it would kind of suck....

unless you guys came up with an intake to go with a top/front mount style manifold :naughty:

 

I'll have my 3.7L manifold off again in the next week or so so I'll snap some photos for you guys to compare to a 3.5L.

 

I sent them the one that came with my 3.7 motor and they are currently working on a design now. I used my 3.5 manifold on my 3.7 engine and didn't see any difference in the two other then the vaccum lines having differenct fittings.

 

Oh alright nice. I didn't realize they had one in the works already, I thought it was still an idea.

From what I've seen on posts here I think most the changes from 3.5-3.7 were on the exhaust side and internally with the valves and seats.

 

Yeah, Jeremy had PM'd me about my extra one so I sent it to them a few weeks ago. That reminds me, I should email them and see how the progress is going.

When I did my motor swap I compaired both manifolds and didn't see a difference so I used my 3.5 cause it still had the TB on it. Once they finish the first prototype they are going to send it to me for a test fit and make sure everything works fine. I'll post pictures and info once they do. :thumbup:
